MASKS + EARRINGS//

Masks, they’re a fact of our lives for the next foreseeable future. They keep you and your loved ones safe. Just like you wear your seatbelt to keep you safe, you should wear your mask.

But they’re changing the way I wear my jewelry.

So designed a new mini collection of jewels which are easy but super fun to wear with masks.

MEET the SQUIGGS, SPLATS, and SPLOOTS

This limited collection are each one of a kind. Individually hand formed in 14k gold fill wire, or sterling silver wire. The posts and backs are 100% sterling silver on both metals.

Speaking of masks: we’re in love with these masks from a maker in my own back yard, Ugly Yellow House! I met Tom and Amber at an outdoor market a few years back. They are both so open and kind, and their bow ties made me so happy. Since the pandemic, they’ve added masks and they’re not only well made, easy to wear, but they’re SUPER CUTE! I picked out a few that are pretty on brand (RJD) if you ask me.

I’ve stocked our next-to-the-door-mask-basket with several cute styles including some for my little babe in just her size. The Ugly Yellow House masks come standard with an adjustable toggle on them, which works well for my husband. However, I have a funky shaped back of my head and had to modify mine by cutting and tying the elastic for behind my ears. I will say that the toggles she offers are super nice, and make having your mask handy around your neck much easier and cool looking than the giant-mask-hanging-from-one-ear-look that I frequently sport. 

TIPS FOR MASKS + JEWELS:

STUDS: Choose studs, or closed hoops if you’re going to be rocking a mask most of the day. We’ve got a LOT of options when it comes to studs. Here’s a few of my favorites. Order left to right in photos below.

CARE: take care when removing your mask. I find that the type that hook behind my ears are preferred especially when removing them. I am able to pull the elastic or string around my earrings, so I don’t end up ripping out my earrings in the process.

WEAR THEM!: We need bits of joy and things that make you feel uplifted and sane. There’s something purposeful about picking your earrings out in the morning. Even when we’re not leaving the house. Putting on jewelry everyday is one small thing that reminds me to find joy and beauty. So rock those big earrings for the zoom calls, and let the studs do the talking when
